Product Review: LA Splash Enlightened Shadow Base

While in Ulta over the weekend, my attention was captured by what I originally thought was a LA Splash cream eyeshadow, but upon closer inspection saw it was an eyeshadow base.

From LA Splash's website site:

Enlightened Cream Base can be worn alone but is recommended to be used with all of the pressed shadows. It comes in 3 nude highlighting shades, one smoky charcoal base, which is essential to create the perfect smoky eye, and the glitter base which can be used alone or under any eyeshadow to add some extra glitz.

I purchased the Enlightened shadow base in Nude (left) and Smoky (right). Nude went on pretty sheer with a nice bit of shimmer and looked nice on its own.  When I added a light peach shadow on top it turned out gorgeous! The color stayed on and remained crease free until I removed it a few hours later.

Smoky I absolutely loved. I thought it would apply ultra dark as it appears in the packaging but the color is build-able. When I applied Smoky to my eyelid as a base for a purple shadow it made the shadow more intense and definitely gave the look more "POW"! It also makes the smokey eye look virtually foolproof when applied to the outer corner of the eye and blended out.

Next time you're in Ulta, I'd definitely recommend looking for the Enlightened bases.
